Jaimilee Cruz, a well-known figure in the village of Sarteneja, hails from a family deeply rooted in the fishing community, born to industrious parents. Her educational journey commenced with the honor of being the valedictorian for the Class of 2006 at Sarteneja La Inmaculada R.C School. In 2010, she achieved a similar feat at Cornerstone Christian Academy, marking the completion of her secondary education. Transitioning to tertiary studies, Jaimilee excelled at Muffles Junior College, graduating in 2012 as an honor roll science student with a specialization in Biology and Environmental Science. Post-graduation, she dedicated her time to volunteer work at SACD, actively participating in the pioneering of water quality monitoring surveys along the Corozal Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Following her volunteer period, Jaimilee joined Wildtracks, assuming roles in the primate program, education and outreach program, and eventually serving as the manatee program manager. Currently, in her role as the Community Liaison Officer at SACD, her commitment to nature and conservation propels her work. Driven by a profound passion for safeguarding the Corozal Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, she firmly believes that collaborative efforts in the present can rectify past environmental damage, paving the way for a better world for future generations.
