The objective and purpose of this environmental summer camp is to encourage youths to love and to care about the environment. It helps to motivate students to start making actions towards the protection and sustainable use of the resources available in there community and special those in Corozal Bay wildlife Sanctuary.
The camp takes place in the community of Sarteneja in the Corozal District. Every year the camp runs under a specific theme. This particular activity take place during the month of July since students are on vacation and they can participate in the entire three days event.
There are many different, fun activities which range from teaching children to swim, developing bird watching skills, conducting Mangrove/Coral Field lessons, and the highly anticipated field trips. Students that participate get an opportunity to visit Bacalar Chico National Park/Marine Reserve too. Every year, SACD engage volunteers to assist in implementation of the activities and to help in all the necessary safety processes & Procedures.
