Born and raised in Corozal, Ryan’s appreciation for the marine environment developed during his studies, where he experienced the wonders of the reef, from snorkeling to swimming with sharks and rays. Ryan attended the University of Belize, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He began his career as a Lab Technician at Corozal Junior College, where his passion for marine life deepened. In February 2015, Ryan joined Oceana as the Corozal Field Representative, actively engaging the community and advocating for conservation campaigns. Over the years, he has significantly collaborated with SACD on various initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to marine conservation. In 2022, Ryan joined the SACD Board of Directors and assumed the position of President. His extensive experience and expertise are instrumental in guiding SACD’s growth and ensuring the organization’s continued success. Ryan’s dedication to marine conservation and his leadership at SACD will help protect and preserve the natural beauty of Belize’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
