The Corozal Bay Advisory Committee (CBAC) has once more met, this time at Orchid Bay on the 11th August, 2017 to discuss a communication strategy. The CBAC wants to make sure information is transferred to those they represent in each sector. The CBAC holds representatives from the fishing sector, tourism sector, conservation sector and the development sector. In addition, there is representatives of the local government from each of the stakeholder communities buffering CBWS and representatives from the Fisheries Department and the Forest Department to facilitate dialogue with Government. The intention is to develop pilot strategies to ensure that information and decisions being made at the CBAC are reaching out to the relevant sectors.
Thank you very much to all the members and to the different Departments for all their input. Also, thank you to PACT and Summit Foundation for their generous support – we look forward to continue working with you all.
